In hybrid work, employees' intrinsic motivation is key, scientist says in P&I

Behavioral scientist Dan Ariely was interviewed by Erin Arvedlund of Pensions and Investments. The resulting article analyzes how companies can help employees thrive by focusing on intrinsic motivation rather than “some separate outcome like money” in the face of hybrid work.


Arvedlund writes "In a hybrid work environment, if workers are worried about layoffs or paycheck concerns, that presents a drain on resources. 'If employees are preoccupied it's a tax. We lose that person. So how do we get people to thrive?'".
